Our new QADDY™ makes life easier for electricians!

nkt cables has developed an integrated cable reel, pay-off and drum trolley. The new drum trolley developed by nkt cables is called QADDY™ and will improve the electricians work day in a significantly way.

The traditional wooden drums have not changed appearance or function during the last 100 years. They can be hard to handle, and heavy, and if they tip over, they are difficult to get back on track.

"We can do better, we thought! We wanted to find a solution that improves the working conditions for the electricians when working with our products," Uffe Nordlander, Engineering Manager at nkt cables, says and he continues: "The development of the new trolley has been a comprehensive process. Numerous field tests have been conducted to ensure an optimal design”.

Three things are essential for the new drum trolley:

• It is easy to manoeuvre on the construction site - it can quickly be converted into a trolley by pulling the handle and turning it 90 degrees. It also functions as pay-off and it's easy and fast to rewind the cable onto the drum. All in all, many daily tasks will be easier and faster for the electricians

• It is designed with a focus on ergonomics. One person can prospectively handle a drum of 100 kg without any risk of straining his back or being afraid of a drum rolling its own way

• It is environmentally friendly and we recycle it when it is worn

QADDY™ is available on the Danish market as of 2nd May 2011.
